A Maine Family Adventure

This past Summer was a busy one. Anyone who lives in the Dallas-Ft Worth area and who doesn’t work out of a studio knows that you don’t do too much photography in the Summer months outdoors, unless you really love walking around in an oven (and I find that most of my clients don’t particularly love that), so I do a lot of traveling during the Summer, including taking my annual trips to Michigan and Wisconsin. This year I also took a special trip to the Northeast, and spent some time in New Jersey, and my daughter and I rented a car and drove to see some dear friends in the gorgeous state of Maine for a couple of days. Other than, of course, spending quality time with them, my primary goals while in the state were to eat some good lobster and see some lighthouses (check and check), and to enjoy all the trees she told me were in great abundance there, and boy was she right. The second I drove into the state I saw nothing but trees! When we were deciding on a spot for her family pictures, I wanted a location that was decidely Maine, that perfectly captured what the state is all about, and I think we did it. This remote beach on the coast of the Atlantic, complete with trees (because of course), and beautiful rocky shores, and a perfect sunset, and the misty fog rolling in as the evening approached, it was all just as I had hoped, and then you throw in the most adorable family ever and you have a dream family photo session. I hadn’t met their youngest little man yet, and let me just tell you – he could NOT get any cuter, except if you compare him to his already dapper older brother, who has been stealing hearts for three years without fail. It was hard to leave, not only the state but our beloved friends. We are so glad to have these pictures and this wonderful night to look back on and remember.
