{ Southeast Michigan Family Photographer | Ann Arbor Family Photography }

I have lived in North Texas for over 11 years now; it’s hard to believe that! I’m starting to feel like a genuine Texan, accustomed to all the hot Summers, snakes, thorns, cicadas, fire ants, bluebonnets and queso with which any true Texan can identify. Before I lived here, however, I lived most of my life in Michigan, and it’s where I began my photography journey. I met some really special people there, most of them just starting out their little families, with babies or toddlers, wanting to document those fleeting moments on camera. When I was planning to make the move to Texas, none of us could bear to part, so I promised to be back, and each year I’ve kept that promise, returning year after year to photograph several of my very favorite families, watching them grow from itty bitty babies into school-age kids, then teenagers, then even graduates. It’s both mind-boggling and bittersweet to see them change so much, but I’m so glad that moving out of state didn’t mean I had to miss it altogether. Along the way, I’ve also picked up a new client or two in Michigan, so I still have a few little ones to photograph, which is always a blast! If you’re curious, you can take a look at past sessions I’ve done with some of my Michigan clients here or here or here or here.
I hope to keep going back to Michigan every Summer until they all grow up and move out of the house (I’ll even photograph their weddings if they want me to!); it’s one trip I never miss and I’m honored and grateful to do it….not to mention, it’s a wee bit greener and a LOT BIT cooler outside for taking pictures so there is that. If you live in Southeast Michigan and would like in on the fun around July, get in touch! I’d be happy to add you to my schedule!
