I have had the pleasure of photographing this Southeast Michigan family since their younger child was two weeks old, and their daughter was 2, “feeding” me her plastic food behind her window’s curtain, her “restaurant.” Every year since then, we’ve found unique spots for their sessions and whether the session be urban or full of nature, we’ve had loads of fun and made many memories. I’ll always love my trips to Michigan each Summer, because I get to see these beloved families and see how much their kids have grown and how they change. But one thing never changes – the love and connection they share, and the sense of adventure and humor that make these photo sessions so ridiculously fun (one year it rained buckets and buckets but they hung in there and waited it out and ended up blessed with one heck of a gorgeous sunset. Another year I drove all the way up to Mackinaw Island for their session and discovered Dad has quite the rock-skipping talent!). I feel incredibly blessed and honored to be able to document the lives of so many precious families year after year, even after I’ve moved away from Michigan to Texas. As long as they keep having me, I’ll keep coming back!!!
