{ Michigan Family Photography | Dallas Family Portrait Photography}

I’m not sure exactly how long I’ve been photographing this family in Michigan (maybe nine years now??) but it has never been a disappointment! We actually connected after I had already moved to Texas, but since I return to Southeast Michigan every Summer, I am still able to photograph this family, and watch and marvel as the boys grow. When I first photographed them, the two younger boys (twins) were just tiny toddlers, and our only goal for the first few years was to get ONE picture of everyone smiling and looking at the camera. While we somehow managed to get that (with no small effort!), it ended up being the candid shots that the parents and I ended up loving the most. The shots of the boys just acting like little boys, their distinct personalities popping through and allowing me to document life how it was at the time. And they most certainly are distinct personalities! But the one thing they have in common is a palpable joy for life and love for their brothers and parents, which is so evident. Nowadays we get an ABUNDANCE of everyone-smiling-and-looking pictures, but I will never stop loving the pictures when they are wrestling each other or making funny faces or racing one another. Those are the precious moments we will look back on and remember, once the kids are adults themselves. I feel great honor being able to document their lives each year, even when I live so far away, and am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait for next year!
