It’s August, and here in Texas that means that school has begun again and the new year is in full swing and graduation is long past. A new set of seniors sets their sights on May 2025 and the parties during which they will celebrate the completion of the years of hard work and dedication and look forward to their next steps into adulthood. But let’s take a look back to a couple of months ago when I had the pleasure of photographing a party celebrating two 2024 graduates. They and their families and friends gathered together on a (very!!) hot evening to eat and drink and play games and enjoy great company before they would go off to college and start their next adventures. I’ve gotta say, this family KNOWS how to throw a party! They didn’t miss a single detail, from the clever decorations, to the funny games, to the delicious food, even a custom pizza bar. I loved being a “fly on the wall” and getting to learn about some of their childhood antics, and watching them love on their family members, and learning about what they want to go on to do for a living. The energy, the fun, the joy – it was all so palpable, and the heat was almost forgotten as the moments became what mattered.
