Southeast Michigan Mini Sessions

{ Ann Arbor Family Photographer | Michigan Family Photography}

When I go to Michigan each year, I usually reserve a day to hold a few “mini sessions” – shorter sessions but just as wonderful – and this year I got to see some of my Michigan friends for a few sweet moments each, and loved every second!

I have photographed this Mom and her sweet girl since she was a baby, and I love how natural they are for the camera and how deep is their affection for one another!

This young man, who came for his SENIOR PICTURES (how in the world did that happen??? And he’s not even the oldest child!) is the son of friends I’ve known since before any of us were parents yet. So it’s mind-blowing when they’re all grown up and I’m looking at these mini adults and feeling old…but also sensing the feelings of pride and admiration their parents have for their amazing children, all ready to go out and conquer the world.

Here is another girl who I’ve known since she was just a small girl ( I SO adore her whole family), and now she’s finishing her last year of college and aspiring to work in the entertainment industry. I was so honored to help update her head shots! She is one of the friendliest people I know, so full of joy and spirit!

This extended family mini session was so fun! I had photographed the teenage girl and her parents since she was a toddler, and this year I got to meet some of her family members. I love photographing babies and toddlers so this was a treat for me. The baby was so adorable and her brother was so funny and full of gleeful energy, you couldn’t help but smile!

I also adore, BIG TIME, this family! They actually moved FROM Texas to Michigan, years ago. And I started photographing their family when there was just one child and another on the way. Now they are blessed with six amazing human beings, and every one is delightfully unique, and fun, and full of spunk. Their parents are so easygoing, and completely engaged with their children, which is such a joy to see. You can tell that they are among the happiest of families, and each one is free to express themselves and know they are fully loved and cherished always. This mini session might have gone past the allotted time a little…I just love following them around with my camera and seeing what they do next. 😀
