Like the Old Days

{Flower Mound Child Photographer | Dallas Child Portrait Photography}

I feel like I don’t get out and shoot “just for fun” like I used to – I guess because tweens and teenagers don’t want to dress up in tutus or suspenders and go traipsing through flower fields all day anymore, and the lack of willing models on demand and my inspiration isn’t triggered as often. Also, I confess – I hate driving so I never really get around to explore interesting new places to shoot, which is a major part of what inspires me! Until 2017 I had my awesome friend Julie to drive us everywhere (plus she always knew all the cool places to go!) and our two girls, friends since the moment they met (at 3 and 5 years old), went along for all our adventures, even across multiple states, providing nonstop inspiration to feed our photographer souls. For a glimpse of all the many many shoots, take a look at this post.

They moved out of state in 2017, and I admit I don’t get out and shoot for myself nearly as often as I used to.

The girls have stayed extremely close, even across the country, despite the distance between them, and so we were so excited for our reunion when they came back to Dallas to visit this Spring. Of course, it was a no-brainer that we would go out for a photo shoot, and if you knew the girls, you’d know they’ve changed a LOT over the last five years because the photo shoot was THEIR idea. I can guarantee that at least one of the girls would have never ASKED for a photo shoot five years ago. 😉

We picked our location due to the forecast for wind the day of our shoot, and it didn’t end up too windy, but it was still a great spot, one of my favorite for clients.
