Although I spend a lot of time photographing families, one thing I’ve really come to enjoy is photographing high school seniors. I love hearing their stories, learning their college plans, getting to know what their talents and interests are and what distinguishes them, discovering those qualities that make each one of these graduates so unique and amazing. And I have to say I love the challenge of getting them to relax and laugh in front of a camera – something with which even this photographer has a difficult time! I remember those days when I was fresh out of high school and ready to go face the world, and all the hopes and dreams that accompany that stage of life, and I get excited wondering where each one will go from here and what kind of awesome contributions they will make to the world.

Below are some highlights from some of the seniors I’ve photographed recently, both in the Dallas, Texas area and in Southeast Michigan. My son is among this group I’m featuring, my third to graduate ( !!! ). I wish them all the best and most exciting and blessed future, and have no doubt that each of these young people will soar!
