Oh, wow. This was FUN. I was asked to shoot a wedding in April 2017 for a lovely couple getting married in the hip Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas. Of course, we did our engagement pictures there and I had so much fun getting to know these fabulous people. They had so much energy and love and they were SUCH a cute couple, I could have shot for hours (especially in Deep Ellum where the choices for backdrops are endless). I love that they had so many ideas, too.
It’s awesome we had such good weather for the engagement session because their April wedding day at 2616 Commerce was stormy and windy, which made for some pretty rad pictures, but kept us from veering very far away from the venue and utilizing all the cool murals and architecture which make the area so distinct.
Naturally, a little rain and wind wasn’t about to squash this couple’s excitement and energy on their big day, and we had a blast the whole time. The guys, especially, had lots and lots of ideas for their pictures and they hammed it up for me. And the women might or might not have convinced me to lend them my camera so they could photograph me chugging champagne from a bottle…
Everything from the ceremony, to the reception, and especially the beautiful bride and groom, was so perfect and awesome. The groom had even painted a series of pictures to be sold for charity auction, which I thought was the coolest thing. What a great wedding. The humor, the fun, the gorgeousness. It was a great time.
