Oh, how I love Utah. I imagine I’ll probably visit every year because I can’t get enough of it. I finally got the chance to post images from last year while I was back there again, so now I get the chance to share the images I took this year (and it didn’t take a whole year to do it either!).
My friend Rachel from Rachel Nielsen Photography and I were going to be driving to Oregon for a workshop in a few days, but we took advantage of the gorgeous scenery right where we were, and spent several nights out and about. The first night, I tagged along for her engagement shoot with this insanely adorable couple, in the picturesque Albion Basin (how crazy was it that there was still snow in July!). I felt like I could very well start breaking out into “The Hills are Alive” at any moment.
The next night, the weather wasn’t looking all that promising, but I really really wanted to go and shoot at the Salt Lake, because it’s just such an amazing place. While the clouds were thick and the wind heavy on the water, we still saw some great texture and color and a LOT of birds, which I love to shoot. And our little model (Rachel’s daughter) is always a dream to shoot, because she is so silly and full of energy and …all that HAIR.
The weather looked better the next day, and since the Salt Lake is this magical place where EVERY SINGLE TIME you shoot there it’s totally different, we headed back, this time joined by another gal and her son.
If you have never shot in Utah before, you are MISSING OUT. This place is insane. Why not come and have an awesome workshop all about finding the light in gorgeous southern Utah? Rachel and I would love to have you. Check it out!
