Coming of Age!

In the last weeks leading up to my move to the Dallas metroplex, I spent some time with a family I’ve grown to adore, to celebrate her coming-of-age into the teenaged years and ultimately into adulthood. I photographed her darling older sister, Emma, in 2012, and this time was her turn for her very own portrait session, on a VERY cold day in Ann Arbor! We did sneak in a few pictures with Mom and her sister, and after freezing for a while outdoors, we headed in to enjoy a more tropical session at Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
Isn’t Ally gorgeous? Such a natural beauty, and a lover of nature and activity and outdoors, and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do!
It was a pleasure spending time with you, Ally, and hope to see you in my visits back to Michigan!

absolutely stunning session with such a beautiful young woman..i love each and every image especially one one of her touching the water with the beautiful reflection and the dramatic light of her on the wall ledge.

As a mom of two girls, one of which just turned 13, I am full of tears just looking at these photos. What a wonderful tribute to the young lady and her mom/sister. Very touching.
