Welcome back to another edition (15 already!!) of my personal series of pictures from 2014! In a couple of weeks I will have a LOT of blog posts featuring all my family photography from 2014 to show you, I promise!

Into the VERY HOT days of July in Dallas, Texas, my first dripping-hot taste of Summer in the deep South…and I loved it <3.  Hot doesn’t scare me.  Huge yellow locusts, maybe a little.  Cicadas that sound like heavy machinery…that takes some getting-used-to.  The threat of poisonous snakes and scorpions and red ants, maybe not so much.  But, hot, nah, hot is part of Summer.

Summer is –

Big scary looking yellow things.

Fireworks from the backyard, with cold drinks in the cooler, and something home-made and patriotic in the kitchen.

Trips to the ice custard store for a play-date with friends (see their work here and here) –
