Where is Sallykate Part Eight

I definitely can’t do a series of “Where is?” without including Michigan among the places I traveled in a year. I was a Michigander for 30 years, and Michigan is where I started my photography portrait business. Seven years ago a lot of my new clients had babies and toddlers and I went in and captured all their beautiful moments, and then the next year, and then the next. When I moved to Texas, no way could I not continue to work with my favorite longtime clients every year! So I return. And every time I get to see how much all these former babies and toddlers have grown and my mind is blown. I mean, there were two seniors this year and the first time I met them they were 10! Sometimes I even get to photograph the young families of couples whose wedding I photographed! I’m so glad all these people didn’t give up on me after all these years, despite the distance. It will be a continual blessing for me (and hopefully for them) to come back and visit for years to come.

I thought it might be fun to go back and try and find the blog posts featuring these families during their first photo shoots. This family below, their younger boy was 6 months old and now he’s 8! Look here!

Somehow I never got this family’s blog post up (not surprising haha) but we laugh now because the #1 goal for the first few sessions I had with them was to get at least one picture with everyone still, smiling, and looking at the camera, and it was near impossible! Now we get about 100 of those! The kids even come up with their own ideas! Here’s one picture from their very first session:

Fast forward five years……

We were joking about the first time we had a session and how the littlest took a lot of time to cooperate for the camera but once she did, she was the biggest ham. Yep, still the biggest ham. 😀 See here!

This little guy has been smiling from ear to ear from pretty much as soon as he exited the womb and he doesn’t appear to be stopping. Find him in this post!

It’s funny because the older kid in this family is a senior! But while the ages have changed, their personalities (full of fun and LOTS of laughing) are exactly the same! Look here for their first session!

See if you can find the two girls as fairies in this post!
